hi has any1 dropped a 2.5 or new engine in there sti, my crankshaft or piston are nakerd and got quoted 2.5k to fix them fort it mite be cheaper to jus put a new block in it. does any1 have any price on much this would cost and the work that would be involved any advice is much appreciated

when i got mines the previous owner had put a new bottem end in. he said it worked out a lot cheaper to do that than have it rebiult

its a bit of a toss up, second hand engine will prob be the cheapest option, assuming you get a goodun, however making sure you get a goodun is the problem.

a 2.5 build normally starts at around 3-4k+ depending on spec, its not relay the kinda thing to do yourself unless you seriously know what your doing
