A Bit Quiet For My Liking ...

Morning alll ... hope you are all well and have not been blown away with this lovely weather we are having at the mo ....I have owned a 2006 2.5 WRX for around a month now , think it's a great car but just want to get some of that "Subaru Burble" released from the exhaust system as Subaru seem to have done a good job of "deadening it down" .... i am not wanting to de cat etc just want to up the exhaust note slightly and subtly.......

I am thinking maybe change the rear box ????????... but have no experience with this model/brand of car so any guidance and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....

Regards Malc

Hi Malc.

Hayward & Scott Classic original style Scooby design back box
would be a good choice.

I've just got a Prodrive back box, that I will be fitting this week end.

I will let you know what I think of it once it's on.

You can pick em up off ebay for around 150 secondhand, or buy new for 300ish.

You can buy the oval tip back box 300ish new. You can't buy the round tip new unless you buy it with the 1500 Prodrive Perfomance Pack.

Oval Tip.

"Prodrive Perfomance Pack " (Round Tip)

Just got my Prodrive tailpipe on, and its sounds luuuvly !!

Nice burble around town, but this flattens out at motorway speeds, so its not intrusive.

Nice easy job, took about 45mins to swap the pipes over, but could definately do it quicker now i've done it once.

No noticeable improvement in performance, just a nice sound.

Anybody know whether or not the car will now require remapping, or will the engine management cope ?? (It does also have a "Green" panel filter)

Finally got it sorted ...................

...........................................

Blitz Nur-Spec-S Good build quality ... very nice sound on idle ...even nicer sound when"giving it some stick"... quiet and not in your face when the revs drop on the motorway....

All the best regards Malc
