WRX newbiee - tuning questions

Afternoon all,
After reading a few posts I was hoping for advice. I've just bought a '05 WRX, never owned anything like it absolutely love it. Sorry if I'm repeating earlier questions but looking for advice.
Besides a 3'' de cat exhaust, 3'' De cat down pipe. K&N air filter the car is standard as far as I'm aware. I was wondering how many horses people might think it currently has?
Likewise, I was looking to get it up to 300 and have been offered the list below(all boxed new), do we think its a wise investment? All advice much appreciated.
Thanks

Exhaust manifold 4-1 - 70
Fuel Pump - 30
Fuel rail - 20
Fuel regulator - 40
Boost gauge - 15
Fuel ratio gauge - 15
Pulleys - 80
Second hand manifold with TGV, throttle body and injectors 30
Also have a oil catch tank unused - 10

Exhaust manifold 4-1 - 70 ?? Headers you mean ?
Fuel Pump - 30 Buy new, I wouldnt risk 2nd hand
Fuel rail - 20 what for ?
Fuel regulator - 40 what for
Boost gauge - 15 cracking to keep a eye on thing
Fuel ratio gauge - 15 for 15 quid it sounds like a shite 1
Pulleys - 80 Good mod but wont help your BHP
Second hand manifold with TGV, throttle body and injectors 30 what for ?
Also have a oil catch tank unused - 10
not ever sure why at this level of mod

Hope this helped,

My approach would be fuel pump, panel filter, exhaust if your not happy and remap,
then drive it !

Re: WRX newbiee - tuning questions

Fair enough, sorry fella I'm used to aircooled engines so naive to a lot of this. Many seem to think a fuel pump and remap would be the way to go.
Its got an large cone style K&N on now, would a panel filter provide that much improvement?
Is it worth putting a STI intercooler on it to help the entire thing run a little smoother?
Thanks

Re: WRX newbiee - tuning questions

your risking causing damage running with the Cone type filter with no remap,
But up to 375/400 bhp a Panel filter will be the best option,
An STI TMIC will help keep the temps donwn,

Arent all engines cooled by air in some way . . .

Re: WRX newbiee - tuning questions

Ha, true story they are just a little easier to manage with only 70bhp!
Sorry more questions, damage to only the filter surely?
can you recommend any particular fuel pumps?

Re: WRX newbiee - tuning questions

Agree with all the above. I would go with walbro 255lph fuel pump, k&n panel filter, exhaust, intercooler and remap. I suspect with a full decat you will fail mots though.
