Re-map help!

I have just fitted a 200cell sports cat and straight through 3" pipes from there and a k&n cone filter. I have been told I should get a remap to get the car running correct? is this right? any help would be great!!

Re: Re-map help!

Yes you definitly need a remap. It will release alot more power. Personally I would drive it on boost after those mods as it may be running lean and it is possible the engine could be damaged.

Re: Re-map help!

yes due to the cone filter, you will want your maff rescaled for the change and on a wrx you may suffer boost spikes due to downpipe change,
and as mentioned you will gain more power from a remap.

Re: Re-map help!

Thanks for the tips. It is a rb320 so already quite a lot of power. As far as I am aware the pistons are only good for about 350bhp so wouldn't want to go more than that. I plan on new pistons and rods after Xmas time. Anybody know a place that is good at this?

I know Bob rawle also gets up that way at times as he visits Harvey,
plenty of options so no excuses not to get it remapped now lol

Re: Re-map help!

A remap on a non turbo won't give great gains and if it just the exhaust changed and cats are still in its not needed

Re: Re-map help!

As far as I know it does have one as standard but I was advised to get an aftermarket one. Don't know the reason but I got the package at a reasonable price! Been in touch with jolly green monster but unfortunatly he says he's rarely in Scotland. Anyone know anything about greers motorsport near Glasgow way?
