Upgrade to Forged pistons

Hello to everybody,
I have a Impreza STi MY06 and the previous owner upgrade it now the power is around 300HP.
All that has been doone is: ECUTEK remap, TEIN suspensions, MILTEK exhaust system, stronger fuel pump, new heads gaskets and bolts.

My question is, do I need to replace the original pistons with forged pistons?
Some of them say yes, others no…what is your experience?

Re: Upgrade to Forged pistons

Im suprised that the original pistons have not suffered from ring land failure if you have the 2.5 engine.
The original pistons are normally good for around 320 bhp before the need to swap out to forged pistons.
The later type 'bolt' type rods are good for 350~380 bhp.
