Power Upgrade

Hi Peeps!

Want to upgrade on power and I have spoken to ScoobyClinic about their performace package 2 (highest package) and it only upgrades to 340BHP costing just over 3k....

Have been thinking about just buying a Bigger bolt on turbo, a exhaust system and a remap..will give me a bit more power than i have already and probably just as much as ScoobyClinic would get, but this was is a bit cheaper...

However I reckon I will need bigger injectors as well, so can anyone suggest good size and good quality injectors ??

thanks guys
Luke

Re: Power Upgrade

What is it you're after mate, 0-60 ? Top Speed ? torque ?
Yeah you can go for a turbo, FMIC, injectors, fuel pump, exhaust, filter and remap.
Once you know what you want you can build to spec.
I'm not worried about top speed but I'm building mine for 0-60 acceleration

Re: Power Upgrade

Well I'm looking for acceleration and top end, but mainly acceleration...

I have a standard 280 BHP anyway, do you reckon the Turbs, injectors etc will get me to around 350 BHP ??

Cheers Matey !

Re: Power Upgrade

First thing is to ask why there isnt a package above 340.

Its for a very good reason, its the safe running limit for yoru car. any more and you start having to worry about gearbox, clutch, and even the engine itself being able to take the power without letting go.

Re: Power Upgrade

well the funny thing is i did email ScoobyClinic asking to get me more power, but they suggest unless i change the gearbox and clutch then dont think about it....

So then i thought instead of spending 3k with them, i'll just buy a bigger bolt on turbs, injectors exhaust and an ECU and remap, and i should be looking at around 340, costing less than 3k....

Re: Power Upgrade

it depends on what parts and having a decent setup and mapper.

If your mate blew up 5 engines at 340bhp, i would look at why they blew up first before throwing money away.

Re: Power Upgrade

subarustu1986 - I understand what you are saying, but ScoobyClinic have said the car will be totally safe running at 350 BHP with turbo, injectors, exhaust, ECU and remap....

5 Blown engines is a lot to be honest, how hard was he driving the car? like all the time ??

jd - yeah as ScoobyClinic said to me when i wanted 400 BHP i would have to change the internals etc....and if they quote 340 BHP with standard internals then sweeeeet ! lol

Re: Power Upgrade

I have the STI import (280BHP) version 3....

but as you said, and ScoobyClinic, 400 is too much for the standard internals, which is why im going to go 350 max, then i can decide from there, have seen forged engines for sale on ebay for like 1500-2000 anyway, so could eventually just invest in one of them.....
