help needed urgently!!!! no speedo, clock, or rev counter.

Help needed urgently!!!!

The speedo, clock, and rev counter have gone on my gauge however the temperature and fuel gauges are working.

I have checked the fuses and have cleaned the plugs and have sprayed them with wd40 which was suggested to me from a subaru garage. However still no joy.

If any one could please help me any ideas????

I really need it sorted as i have no idea what speed i am doing and also its not gonna get through the mot. Got a load of shows coming up to - typical.

Any ideas???

On my v2 STi the speedo/rev counter are mechanically driven by a cable, i would guess that your RA could be the same or perhaps you have a fly by wire system?

Mechanical system......

It's quite possable that the drive has come adrift either at the clockset end or the gearbox end. I had a failure at the gearbox end not long after the car got in the country following kph/mph conversions. Incorrect assembly.
Since then i've also had my clockset out for dial mods and i know that if the nylon sheath that locates the cable drive to the rear of the speedo isn't snaped correctly into position it could come adrift.

Fly by wire elect trickary......

See your fuses are ok
Tachometer speed sensor fault ?????
Just a guess that one as i don't know how it reads the revs and speed.

Emmmmm

Without looking I would say that the fuse has blown.
Does the radio and the interior lights still work?

radio and interior light still works.

Mines gauges are not mechanicle as i took the panel out and there are three plug adaptors going into the gauges.

What do you call a sensor fault? where would this be??

What is puzzling me is that because the spedo and rev counter whys the digital time clock not working. As i would not have thought these would have been together. Stange for these three to go and not the temperature and fuel gauge!!

So yours is a fly by wire system. I'm affraid i have no knowledge of this system. However there must be a sensor somewhere that sences the speed and rpm of the car.
