Unhappy Remote Central Locking Noise 97 Sport

hi all i have a 1997 Impreza sport and when i lock it on the fob it makes a very harsh sound for a couple of seconds.....as if a gear is grinding or slipping on the drivers side locking motor

can these be stripped down easily? do i have to remove the door card? and also is it likely to be shagged? or can you repair them?

try cleaning the door lock motors out,
On after market systems the solenoids slip and cause this, so it could be dirt in the motor not allowing it to open fully.

Not to clean them out and relube,
Its the parts you can see when you open the door, that catches the Pin on the body to hold it shut,

Dont use WD40 as the new lube as that just attracts more dust which again turns to a paste and clogs it up,

Id use carb or brake cleaner with the straw on to get in and blast the crap out,
Have a old rag to hand to catch and crap, the carb/brake cleaner will evaporate after a few mins,
Then relube with white grease and see if its helps,

There are small micro switches in them that wear out so it may not work, but its a cheap enough try.
