What do you do for a job ??

I know how I afford to keep, insure and run such an expensive motor ( at my age, 26 ), I'm a computer programmer, it's boring to most people but gooood money, and I work from my shed !! ( all the best Englishmen work in their sheds imo ) .... I guess some of you must have pretty interesting jobs, so spill the beans; what pays the bills ???

Re: What do you do for a job ??

I'm a mere minion in an IT dept of a multi million profit company and it's one big joke - seriously you would not believe how stupid this setup is, i'm also the busiest one in here. And soz to say but the programmers in here are the biggest bunch of boring people i've ever met...no offense

I'm working on communications and billing analysis for a pittance, have been in there asking for a wage rise, but being a woman with kids i dont get taken very seriously, decided to stay on same crap wage but work part-time, it doesn't matter that i have been to Uni and have a computing degree still didn't get a sniff at network jobs they would rather take on guys that have been out of work for over a year and dont have a clue - not their fault my IT managers and ASS

Oops you hit a sore point there

No, but programmers are boring people, but forgive them they have boring jobs, it's likely they work for a pittance too ... I'm the only programmer in a, close as makes no difference, million Euros a year ring of sites, which is somewhat more exciting than working as part of a bad team ( they are always bad, no team of IT people is good, they just end up sitting around discussing the best clock speeds and L2 caches available from Intel's latest range of processors; or some other unimaginably boring bollocks ) ...

I dunno what to say about being a woman, grow a penis ??

Re: What do you do for a job ??

Well apart from chief cook and bottle washer, running my own mechanic/custom bodywork business i also work part time for E-ON selling gas and electric. This is easy work temporary till my business picks up and if im completly honest great money for doing nothing.

www . energyhelpine . com will give you the best energy prices for you if you want abetter deal check it out.

Was Full time untill recently with EON and have recently gone part time as my business is picking up and need to give more time to it. I have a great ops manager at EON who is supporting my business in the respect that she lets me keep dropping hours as and when needed as my business grows. Not many Jobs would help like that which is why im here and 19k basic is a good wage for a poor job too.

Over the next 12 months i will leave Eon totally and move into larger premises as my workshop is currently in the grounds of my house (is still larger than most small business units)

My car will be totally re painted and rebuilt to 400bhp for the start of the show season next year.

Oh and great idea on thread. Be good to see whay everbody does.

Re: What do you do for a job ??

I used to work for Top Gear also... until I wrote a book. I now have enough knowledge to work for NGK after experiencing spark plug problems so I'm persevering with that

I work for the NHS unfortunately
