Well technically I did fail on headlamp alignment on high beam being very slightly off, nippped up the road where an enterprising chap has taken advantage of the location (it's the main testing station for a very large part of Tokyo and tests must be done here) and charged me the princley sum of 20 quid () for 2 minutes work to set that right. Headed back for my free, yes free, re-test 10 minutes later and job done. They didn't even bat an eyelid at my diff.

All that cost me 450 quid. Test itself is only a tenner so a bit of a bargain, but you have to pay 2 different taxes at over 200 quid a pop to get your certificate at the end of it. That's on top of the 300 quid annual road tax I have to pay.

Might do a write up on the experience because it is different to my experiences in England, but a very interesting one for sure.
