Arists do the craziest of things

Possibly the craziest artist i've come across, and i've seen my fair share of the years.
This bloke is a performance artist or 'time based artist'.

1. click 'artworks'
2. click the links for each 'performance' piece
3. read 'statements'

TEHCHING HSIEH

mad maybe? but he must have a lot of belief in what he's doing....

Re: Arists do the caziest of things

What an odd chap.

More anthropological than art to me. Web page is a ball ache too. Can't go back to previous page (least not in Safari). Maybe that's his next stunt; how many people are mad enough to keep reloading the main page to look at his, erm, work.

The last 2 were, I think, pushing the limits of what could really be accepted as art, even in the loosest sense of the word. Or maybe I just don't get it.

Re: Arists do the caziest of things

yeah - the website has to be reloaded when going backwards which is a pain. I wish i could get the video footage of the 'clocking in' piece spread over the year, as i'm sure at least phto footage of it speeded up does exist. I think you get to see him every hour, everyday for the year, and of his appearance, mood, clothes etc obviously dramatically change throughout.

Making a declaration of not making art, or talking about it etc is like making art without making it?? - th's nothing new believe it or not!
