ENGINE DESTROYED

Ok here is my little story

Brumbrum and I out for the day at the local race track... not my car on track BTW.

Took my car to change the tyres on the SPEC C to racing semi sliks, tools etc

Been very carefull to keep my engine off boost... until Bob Rawle installs and maps SIMTEK this comeing saturday 29th

Birthday gift to me... saved hard and long

So how it happened..... roundabout with part time traffic lights... second gear... 20 MPH then sudden loud metalic noise followed by oil and water smoke/steam

Pulled over to find the engine had hole on the top of the cylinder block between the two right hand (as you look) cylinders... the hole is just under the intake manifold at the bottom end of the engine... see pics

I now need a replacement engine to fit 97 -98 UK turbo... If anyone can help please PM me..

Have very limited funds but have decided to replace engine with second hand unit...

I am bitter sweet on my birthday could have gone after remap

Re: ENGINE DESTROYED

Cheer guys.... Have been in touch with a rally engine specialist in North Wales

Very good chat on the phone.. he will be doing the following

GENUINE V4 STI BOTTOM END

STRIPPED CLEANED AND INSPECTED

FULLY REBUILT WITH ACL MAIN AND BIG END BEARINGS (STD SIZE CRANK)

BORES HONED TO MATCH STI FORGED PISTONS, NEW RINGS FITTED

HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP

IDEAL UPGRADE TO NON STI CARS OR REPLAVEMENT FOR AN STI

WILL FIT 1993-1998 (4 BOLT BLOCK)

COMPLETE ENGINE BUILD

DELIVERY IS 55.00 TO MOST OF THE UK

P/X POSSIBLE WITH YOUR OLD ENGINE

PLEASE ASK FOR COMPETATIVE QUOTATIONS FOR STANDARD OR FULLY FORGED REBUILDS

ALL WORK BACKED UP WITH 20+ YEARS MOTORSPORT EXPERIENCE

WILLIAMS MOTORSPORT

His name is Andrew Williams and is very helpfull

As the above is for a 'short engine' he will remove the heads from Mine and place on new block... if any damage is found, he will replace with undamaged from his stock... full rebuild and then return to my garage for installation

Will keep all informed of progress and service received... but I am happy with price and services offered so far

To early to give thumbs up... but so far so good

Now just have to rob a bank for funds... my birthday money will not even cover the price of the new head studs
