MPG. think im chuffed!

Hey all

Just been on my first long run with my scoob, i was a little worried as i dont have any breakdown cover, iv had the car just under 10 weeks im still getting to know her. was chuffed that i made the 376 miles with almost no break and with absolutely no probs, was 95% motorway and at a speed of 75mph to 100mph. weather was HOT untill night fall.

started on a full fuel tank of 97ron at 1.04 PL from sainsburys 40 and an extra 12 at services on way back for safe guard 1.14 PL on this web site
MPG calculator UK miles per Gallon - calculate MPG

it calculated the i was able to do

(34.19 MPG) ( 12.1Km per litre)( 8.26446 litre per 100Km)
Averaging 18.83 pence per mile

car is a classic 97 import wagon wrx

so is this any good or is this bad????

Re: MPG. think im chuffed!

If those figures are right then they look pretty impressive to me.

I'm happy when I get 250 miles to a tank out of my RA. What is less impessive is the price you guys pay for petrol. 1.04 a liter, and it aint even 99 ron. Ouch!

i know for a fact that i would wait till i got to that station before putting any more in, this is where the saying really makes sense "pence makes pounds"

even if it was in the low teens MPG i still love driving my car and to me thats all that really counts RIGHT??

Petrol consumption...

Ok it's top trumps time

Brumbrum filled his Spec C to the brim with Optimax before leaving Cardiff to go to Castle Combe... one hour from Cardiff at Legal speeds

By the third session on the track...about 14.00hrs the reserve light came on

So went to petrol station next door to the track... and got stung for 1.16 per litre of 97 Ron and worst thing of all... I was paying!

Rip off Britain

... hate being mugged by the tax man
