Booked Bob Rawle at end of August... Saturday slot 14.00hrs 29th if your about.. Andrew comeing with me... he had his old car mapped by Bob... the day he turned up... Bob started the mapping and the car and Andrews clutch went!!

So that was abandoned.... a few weeks later and a new clutch... he went back and Bob started again... Andrew got about 290 and amazing 320 lbs of torque on a standard TD04!!... Bob put the torque figure down to the headers and porting work he had done in Yorkshire... plus full de-cat everything

Are you off to GP tomorrow mate?

Did you soak those bandages before you wound them ? because they look a little loose you will get them tighter if you soak them first worth the effort and the end result

Hi... thanks

Yes did notice this and spent some time doing it again yesterday Still itching from the fibre glass

Wet works better and drying to shape

Then jacked and supported car etc... and removed heat shields... a bit of persuasion was required...

Soaked the head/up-pipe nuts/bolts with easing oil... they all undid without problems... I then re-torqued them to 32 Nm ready to finish the job on Tuesday... friend owns garage and letting me use his ramp etc

Will try to post pics if possible

Job is easier than I thought... once the old heat shield ends are removed

Cheers Andrew... they are now on the car... Have now put on extra metal ties... and also covered the turbo with a heat blanket and then wrapped it as well... put heat blanket on the under tray where the headers get close as a further precaution

SIMTEK ecu on 29th.... Still desperate to find cheap 440 or 550 Phase one injectors (Yellows) and hope to get cheapish TD05 With front entry

Thanks

Yes if you dont bandage... then the under bonnet heat will build up and you will loose power, also exhaust gas travels faster when hot, so turbo affected also
The headers will pass very close to the oil sump pan and oil filter, radiated heat in this area is also not desirable

Hope this helps... if you need a link to bandage suppliers and ties let me know by PM'ing me

Nobby
