JAPFEST 09 'Now where did I put my keys'?

'What we did on our holidays'

Andrew (Brumbrum) and I went to Coombe to see the Jap steel... but we mostly saw them in traffic jams and overflow car park fields

Bruv sold his Tiens and VF 35 Blower... GOOD TIMES!

I got in for nothing... Walked straight pas security with a coil-over on my shoulder... and no one challenged me... GOOD TIMES!

We enjoyed the nutter in the small blue Toyota? trying to kill himself and his very frightened and sick looking co-driver... Was sure he was going to go off at Quarry corner.... but he made it... although the smoke from his exhaust and smell of clutch plate on fire makes me think he toasted his engine and transmission... tyres, brakes, fluids and brain cells

Drift cars were interesting and mad

We stopped at the SIDC stand to compliment some members of the South wales Scooby's on thier new logo... SWS.... we thought it was very original and an inovative design... and brum told them they had made the right choice... NOT! The gents on the stand were so glad to meet us and Brum introduced me to them... They were a bit stand off ish for some reason? But hey ho! GOOD TIMES!

But the best AND worst part of the day was yet to come..... I will let Brum fill you in with the details in a seperate post... but let me just say, to whet your appetite... the back seats were quite easy to take out of his new car, but I did'nt find a penny or pound coin down there... I found and old coat with 1,000 In used notes..... HONEST on my kids life.... 1,000 I said finders keepers.... but he claimed salvage rights... BAD TIMES!

We then watched the poor sods in the ques trying to get out of the over flow car park.... tooks some an hour to move 20 yards. BAD TIMES!

On the road back from the circuit to the M4 We picked up a police escort (grey Volvo estate) the front lights were the big giveaway... they had two blue lights inside the side lights ... Well spotted by us we thought... allthough we were warned by the steward when we left.... He tailed us all the way to the M4 junction (Bath turn off)... so we drove in an exemplary maner. GOOD TIMES!

All in all and when you weigh it up... the good times outweighed the bad so GOOD TIMES! won the day....

Re: JAPFEST 09 'Now where did I put my keys'?

It was an 'eventful' day out, if nothing else! Caused a bit of controversy when giving South Wales Scooby's an artistic critique of their new logo, locked car keys in the boot and got tailed by the police......,,,,the usual kind of shenanigans that happen when we leave our local territory

i sold my tein coilovers and vf35 turbo, and was walking around with a grand in cash all afternoon. i got back to the car and put my coat with cash in it in the boot for safe keeping, and then realised my car keys were in my coat. it turns out that the Spec C has no in car boot release. we were stuck in a field in the west country with no where to go. i was not pleased, and neither was my bro! we were about to leave the fest before any build up of traffic, but it wasn't to be. ,,,, and i have no spare keys for the car.

called out the AA. we had to take out the back seats and the AA man brought a bag of spanners from the main road(as he could not get into the field of cars due to congestion) to unbolt the rear metal panels as we had no tools. before hand i asked a few sti owners to try out their keys in the boot, but to no effect.
thank god the AA man didn't have to drill through the lock.

needed a stiff drink by time i got home

typical of my brother to take a mug shot of me, just minutes after locking the keys in the boot, i was not in the mood to smile, the blanked out eyes hide the tears of shame and embarrassment

What kind of weight saving is a boot release cable???.......... bloody Spec C's

What a wally Andrew! No in car release is the price you pay for all that weight saving mate.
