Bye bye scooby

Well i never thought i'd be saying this..... but i've gone and bought a new car and, it's not a scooby I've gone and bought a Renault Clio 1.2

The scooby will be off the road as from wednesday. I don't know what to do with it yet.... sell or modify. If i do decide to modify it won't be till later on in the year or even next year? I'll have to way up the options available to me!!

The reason behind this madness is, i've found another job which involves me travelling around 60 miles a day round trip compared to 14 in my old job and, with petrol prices constantly rising it would cost me a small fortune to use it daily.

So there you go. Another scooby owner bites the dust...... for now anyway..... but watch this space

Mine works out an expensive toy as its taxed/insured all yr round but in truth it probably only does 4/5000miles a yr,i were quite glad though for the micra as ive put 20,000mile on that that`d av bin on the scooby an yer its expensive to have standing most of the wk but forget that when i drive it.

I thought about keeping it taxed and insured, but then thought against it I'm gonna park it up off road, buy a cover for it (I aint got a garage as yet) then very possibly mod it

If tax had have gone up for mine would just be taxing it for 6mths of the yr, to be honest i could almost do that now how often i use it in winter but the odd day its fairly decent its cool to have the option to go out for a spin.

The timing was perfect for me really with regards to tax and mot. The tax runs out the end of this month and, the mot is due end of next month. I would have needed 2 possibly 3 new tyres by the time the mot was due.

The rocker cover gasket needed renewing anyway as it was starting to leak. At least now it will give me some time to do a few other jobs that need doing, but didn't have the time as it was being used daily.

I'm still in the "what do I do with it" stage. I don't really want to sell it, but as you said, why keep it just for it to sit there gathering dust.

I'm gonna give myself a couple of months to think about it, then i'm gonna have to make a decision....... modify or sell.
