fuel issue :/

Hi all

Im new here and was reading the posts on this about the v power fuel and tesco momentum etc.. Im buying a 97 wrx sti but the problem here in paddy land aka ireland is that there is no such fuel here, 95 unleaded is the best thing sinced sliced pan here and as I read on this its not good for the car, any suggestions about what I could do? Thanks

Get a certain spirit which moto shops sell to mix with the petrol could possible help im not sure what the name of the product is but made my mates S14 fly :P

Oh ye the pro boost or octane booster ye id say that would do the job, 30 quid a litre of that stuff my missis is gone stab me when I bring the car home ha it will be worth the stab wound though , do u kno what the standard bhp is on a version 5 wrx sti? I think it 280 but not sure

they vary a bit, although i would take it easy till you get the fuel sorted.

ideal situation is get it mapped for 95 ron, anything else is winging it.

Il do my best to take it easy, thanks for the advice lads, il get it mapped for 95, will there be any power loss because of that? and what should I look ou for when im buying one?

you'll loose some power because of it, but if you can only get the fuel its better to have a bit less go but safe go rather than risk the engine.

Thanks il keep that in mind, but I wont be able to get anything like vpower it was here for maybe 7 months on shell and it was gone as quick as it came, so im gessing getting it remaped and trying to put more power into it is kind of pointless

All maxol unleaded in the lower half of Ireland is maxol e5 and is 100 Ron. Get it mapped for this of you can get it locally. E5 contains 5% ethanol and will work far better than 95 in a scoob

Im in the middle of ireland, in offaly, I think the nearest maxol is abou 10 miles up the road is it called e5 unleaded or is it just unleaded sorry about all the questions just dont want my engine to go pop ha
