my daughters boyfriend has one and she reckons that the nintendo ds is much better?
My other half was thinking about one for xmas, then he doesn't take up the tv with the ps2, but Laurel ( my daughter) told him the above.

i got one last year to take on holiday with me and then like a muppet sold it when i got back.
anyway .....going away again in 4 weeks so i have just bought another, they are excellent bits of kit and in my opinion far better than the nintendo.
play.com was the cheapest place i could find them brand new.

Bought one when they first came out. I was commuting into central Tokyo every day and it was a lifesaver. Since i changed jobs and i cycle to work i no longer have any need for it.

As said above great piece of kit IF you have a need for it and you commute or travel by plane a lot. I don't and so sold it for 20,000 yen.

Graphics and gameplay are awesome for such a small machine though.
