Roof Rails

Anybody know how to get the "carry handles" off a Bugeye wagon. I know you can get roof rail delete strips. Assume they are disconnected from inside which means taking out the roof lining. Don't fancy that. I'm OK with spanners but trim

Re: Roof Rails

Get em off !!!
I'm going to do the same on mine, just a bit of an arse having to take the lining down ! Just need to buy the trim from a breaker to fill in the holes where the rails bolted on.
Should make for a sleaker look

Re: Roof Rails

Just incase your wondering with the right tools you can leave the roof lining in place and just drop the edges and get into the nuts underneath without too much hassle. its a lot easier than taking out the lining altogether. And doesnt dmage the liniing either. I know this as i resprayed my purple wagon last year and had to remove them for that. its not that daunting a job really,

Re: Roof Rails

Each rail will weight around 3kgs each a guy on a different forum did the same and it looked awsome. 6kg in total or 84pounds is a must but I can't find the delete strips anywhere!!

Re: Roof Rails

Might need to use the gutter strips from a scrap yard and cut them to fill.
