STI Backbox & Upgraded Centre Section

Would anyone know if a standard 2002 STI back box would fit with an afterburner upgraded centre section?
Thanks - Ben

As Brett said! A standard 2002 STI back box should fit the afterburner centre section.

Well for the sake of the price of gaskets I would replace them ya as you might run into problems further down the line the exhaust might blow between the old gasket so to save time down the line I would replace with new gaskets

Re: STI Backbox & Upgraded Centre Section

Any performance difference between an STI box and a Prodrive? I'm assuming
the STI box is less restrictive than a standard twin pipe WRX one?

Re: STI Backbox & Upgraded Centre Section

definately will fit the standard system as long as its 2.5 inch centre section.
i upgraded mine in sections and the hayward and scott (afterburner) stuff is the same as the original bits.
deffo upgrade gaskets whilst youre at it.

i have a hayward and scott back box for sale if anyones interested. 2.5 inch jap-angle one.

No real performance gains between sti & prodrive back box, both pretty similar in size and bore and no noticeable difference in sound.
