Welcome to the site
![]() As for sorting a DeCat - It will be fine if you just bolt it on !! I assume you are running with a standard ECU and not an uprated one ?? As Gareth says it might be worth your while Resetting the ECU cos this will help get the most from your Modification ![]() All I will say if you will enjoy the car a lot more when decatted ![]() |

Yes the cutting of the heatshield is so that it fits the new down pipe - this will need to be done with most if not all aftermarket D/Pipes.
Deffo worth refitting though cos as Big E says you do not want the excess heat causing problems in your engine bay, which it will if left ![]() |

Well the shield being left off could have serious implications on the running of your motor Gareth....If you look whats above or around the area (above the Turbo) you have brake and clutch resevoirs to name a few
If you are gonna leave the heat shield off then the minimum you should do is wrap the down pipe in exhaust wrap, this will give you some protection. |
