Caliper Painting

Hey Guys

My Calipers on my 53 wrx are just black at the mo with the subaru logo. I was thinking of painting them as im upgrading my wheels.

Basically if i want it to look pukka is it a paint shop jobby or is it really easy diy with good results? I would like to retain the subaru logo it black and have yellow calipers.

Any suggestions tips etc etc would be brill!

Re: Caliper Painting

You could get a good spray paint or paint from halfords got my caliper paint their for one of my cars before the results or great but if you a bit of a perfectionist like me you will need to get masking to sort out that subaru logo and give the caliper a thourgh clean first and paint or spray paint but if you spray paint gota mask more areas so I would paint it and mask the areas that you dont want sprayed like the subaru

Get a small wire brush that should take a lot of crap off it watch the brake dust can and some have asbestos in the pad itself but obviously brake dust will get onto caliper dont want to be inhaling that stuff get a white mask for your face wash it down using a paint brush with hot water and washing up liquid if they grease on calipers them selves they shouldnt be but if so get a degreaser and that will take grease off, then when dry just trying to think dont think you need to prep the caliper can paint it straight on I think been a couple of yrs since I done it then mask areas before you paint and especially watch the subaru on caliper mask it be tidious but when done right be mint
