Exclamation 2002 wrx impreza

can any1 help? i have a near standard wrx with a bonnet which seems like it's made out of plastic or fibreglass. not %100 sure on this.

my suspicions are: the paint work isnt smooth, very distorted refection
And if pressed down the panel bends very easily

I know nothing about scoobys this is all new to me

They are made of aluminium so are very soft as standard. Can you see plastic if you scratch the paint in an out of the way place? The paint on my '02 isn't great compared to the steel body panels.

I'm fairly sure that WRX's come with a steel bonnet standard and it's only the RA's etc that came with aluminium. Could be just the classics that came with steel bonnets though.
I have an Aluminium bonnet on my RA however, and aside from being considerably lighter there are no other issues with it, and it certainly isn't flexible. That said, my dads old Rover P6 had an aluminium bonnet and due to age had started corroding under the paint and left the paint looking very rough and discoloured My RA bonnet is tip top though with no difference between the panels at all, so I don't think aluminium is likely to be your problem.

Hi Wayne.

I know for sure all late classic turbo's & newage turbo's have a aluminium bonnet standard.

So just the early classics then. I didn't know that. I thought my car was special.
