electric mirrors on a wrx import

Hi,

I have a 94 WRX import. The mirrors are electric and they both move when coaxed with the control. However if I press the fold-in button only the drivers side folds-in. Am I right in thinking that they should both fold in?

Thanks

not all mirrors are electric folding, its possible that someone has fitted a std adjuctment type at some point or the motor for the fold option has stopped working

I'd agree

either it's been swapped to a non electric mirror at some point

or... perhaps the wiring's gone bad

i have them on my 2001, and both mirrors fold

Re: electric mirrors on a wrx import

Hello, I have a 95 import and both my mirrors fold in when you press the button but only the passenger one goes out when you do it. Shouldn't they both go out? I had a quick look at the wiring and it seems fine. Any ideas?

Thanks Claire

Re: electric mirrors on a wrx import

My near side mirror got smacked by a friendly motorist a few months ago.
That mirror then subsequently stopped folding out as yours. I basically just stopped folding them in until i get a new one put on, but when axing them a few weeks ago pushed it back out a bit far, heard a click and hey presto works great now.

Re: electric mirrors on a wrx import

I tried some wd40 but it didn't work, plus it doesn't make a noise when it's ment to be going out like the other side. Are there 2 motors per window o1 in and 1 out or ...
Thing is i dont even know how the mirror is attached to the car, i pulled the door card off but i dont know what the motor would look like anyway.

Download PDF Subaru | PDFTown.com Download a manual that will show you everything done another couple of cars before proberbly motor as its not even making noise now like even when its off the little tracks it clicks mad and as yours not doing it id suspect the motor ya a motor a mirror. Motor should be behind up over the doorcard behind plastic backing for mirror itself inside your door over doorcard hope it helps when you have motor out connect it up to a 12v battery and test it once you hook wires up right it should fire into action but as I suspect it prob will not thats my opinion hopfully it not motor it might be just a loose connection check connection to and wires for cuts as this could short the motor aswel
