Clicking from rear

Hi Guys, I know there's been a lot of threads of a similar note previously but here goes anyway! I have a 2003 STi that is clicking from the rear when I pull away, a few seconds after touching the brakes and when turning into junctions. The rear shocks have been changed but not the top mounts so could this be it or could it be the diff? Thanks, Dave.

No it hasn't mate, just missed out on it!
Having the missus drive back and forth in it, it seems like its coming from the passenger side rear around the wheel area. It got me thinking that maybe its pad knock but why would it do it going round a corner, or into junctions anyway?

Re: Clicking from rear

I have exactly the same problem on my 04 sti. I'm going to do an oil change in the next day or two to see if I can spot anything. Mine doesn't seem to speed up or slow down with the speed of the vehicle so makes me think it's not the diff. But other things tell me it is the diff.

I'll let u know how it goes asap

Re: Clicking from rear

Just a quick update, I took the car into my local Scooby specialist to investigate the noise and it turned out to be a dry drive shaft spline coupled with a slightly moved axle nut. Got the spline re greased and nut re torqued and hey presto, no more noise! North Motor Company near Winchester....Gary really knows his stuff
