Knocking spoiler

Hi All,

Took the car back to the garage as there is a knocking noise when the roads are bumpy coming from the rear, i thought it might be a shock or wheel bearing.

However they have called me back up and said its the rear spoiler, and they need to order some special glue to fasten it back down.

Its not a subaru garage.....

Does that sound right to you all? i thought they would be drilled in place?

Regards

Lee

Re: Knocking spoiler

well if the spoiler is as per ur user name and a UK300 then No glue is used, I have fitted the Prodrive spoiler(which the UK300 has) and it has the same fixings as a wrx spoiler, 4 bolts and some sealing tape around the base of the 2 legs.

Re: Knocking spoiler

My STI is bolted and has some sort of sealing strip between boot and spoiler which has worn through. I now need to treat the rust where it has gone through the paint and re seal it.

Re: Knocking spoiler

Take it to another garage.

Sounds like the infamous failed rear shocks.

Re: Knocking spoiler

Hi all, It was actually the spoiler!!! Now no knocking. I could of swarn it was shocks or exhaust...

They got my Vectra in at the moment as the thermo gauge is not working, when i spoke to the guy on service he said its supposed to read '0' as diesal cars run cold lol. i just laughed and said im bringing it in to get fixed.
