Lightbulb Hid headlights

hi guys , dont know if this is the right place so appologise if it is , but need some input , I have a hid setup which was on the car when i got it , it works on the low beam only so is super bright i have had people flash me thinking im on main beam , and main beam is normal ,so now im driving round on main beam and then when no other cars around change to low (hids) im thinking they are wired up to the wrong bulbs ?? anyone know about hids as i am totally clueless on these new lights also what bulbs do a 1999 impreza have is it two bulbs one high one low or one with both filaments in ?? as i have looked in the front light and can see two bulbs is this right ??
thanks in advance

Re: Hid headlights

you have the HiD/halogen set up,complete rubbish imo,had them in mine, never had anyone flashing me,mind you i had the 8000k bulbs, there is a simple fix for this set up,replacement hi/lo xenon bulbs can be found on the net for not a lot of the classics run the H4 bulbs,so you will find alot of items for the motor

Re: Hid headlights

you'd be best replacing them with bixenon HiD bulbs something like these :- eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

Re: Hid headlights

they should be a direct replacement bud, have scanned the net and all bulbs seem to have the exact same connection terminals,so you should be good to go

Re: Hid headlights

i'm still getting to grips with some of the new bits of kit, like these canbus slim units, not sure what difference is yet between the new and old units and also they have a twin filament bixenon bulb out,may treat myself to a set in the new few weeks..
