TMIC

Afternoon all,

What would I need to do to fit a 2003 TMIC fom an STI to my 95 classic ? Obviously it's much bigger and I don't want a FMIC.

Cheers

Re: TMIC

Yes, i'd quite like to know that too. But one problem i did hear on this mod, is that the intercooler cowl on the bonnet is a lot smaller on the classic, therefore if you put the bigger intercooler on the car, only about 60/70% is getting effective cooling, which kinda makes the mod a bit pointless. i'm not too sure if trying to retro-fit the bigger cowl from the later subaru would work, or be able to fit anyhow. Hope someone can advise as like i say, i'm interested too..

Re: TMIC

Yeah I'm watching a bigger vent from a 2004, not too difficult to chop the bonnet up and fit. Will need to recess the lip so it sit nicely though. As you say there's no point doing it for 60% effeciency

Re: TMIC

2003 should fit nicely,i knw the STi8 TMIC involves new brackets, pipe relocation, clutch resi cut to lower height, and iirc some bulk head beating, looked into doing mine but plumbed for the bigger scoop

Re: TMIC

Luckily it's the 2003 I've found, but there is other bidders getting too excited so might keep looking. I've decided it's the way to go for me

Re: TMIC

for the amount of work your talking about you may as well just get a front mount. only time you shouldn't go fornt mount is if you have a td04, but for that its not worth changing the intercooler at all

Cheers all, appreciate the comments.
If I did fit the 2003 STI TMIC then would I need to change anything ?
