Monitoring ECU ?

Just wondered what you guys experiences are with the following.

a) ECU Explorer
b) ROMraider
c) ELM327 interface and software.

Just need to clear the Cam Sensor fault now I've replaced it.

I use ELM327 for resetting the CEL. Seems to do the job ok although it does crash relatively frequently on my laptop as it is 64bit. I also used Romraider for resetting the ecu, but you can also read the error codes aswell.

Re: Monitoring ECU ?

I would but as you say not quite so easy. 180 mile round trip. Got a small garage locally that did the initially scan to confirm cam sensor. Could go back there but I think I'd like to have a go myself. More out of interest rather than financial. I see there's a useful guide to ECU Explorer in Scoobypaedia (SIDC).
ELM327 seems silly cheap........Chinese copy I expect.

Re: Monitoring ECU ?

I use RomRaider, just make sure you have the latest update and versions of the ECU and logger definitions.

Re: Monitoring ECU ?

I believe it will only do engine codes.
I've now got ECU Explorer + cable and ELM 327. Still havn't had a chance to try either. I let you know in the next couple of days.
