confused ?!

Hey, sorry I keep askin loads of questions but it's my first scooby lol I fitted a boost gauge yesterday then took the car out and it hit 25psi is this safe for a 98 wrx import running 300bhp on what I'm told is an sti turbo ?! In 4th and 5th it's hitting 27psi then the ecu's cutting it. Right excuse me if I get this wrong but there is no hose on the wastegate actuator that leads to the inlet post afm so I've fitted a small t piece (1mm ish) which has helped as it was doing it In every gear at 5k rpm. Any ideas ?

abit more info on how u fitted the boost gauge as u do not T it in to the wastegate actuator pipe if u have this is prob why your car is boosting so high

Overboosting bud take a look at this it will sort it CobbTuning.com - How Subaru’s Factory Boost Control System Works quoted from this link The stock boost control system most commonly uses a restrictor pill with a center hole size of 0.040”-0.048” +/- 0.001” Below are some of the restrictor pill sizes we have commonly seen in the stock turbo Subarus.

hey, sorry back to this and my boost problem i fitted a gizzmo boost controller the other day now i cant get more than 10.7psi without a fuel cut ?! any ideas.

would an engine wth standard internals take 25psi ?

will uprated anti roll bars stop my understeer ?

im not sure i would say so because of the sti turbo on it . . . sayin that could it be because its not mapped im gettin problems ?

is it safe to run 20psi ?

sweet rear anti roll bar is in the post lol

if its mapped 20 psi is fine, its if its not that's the problem. easiest way is to get it on a dyno and see what its doing.

If there is no hose onto the actuator then it has no way to control boost .. it will just be boosting to whatever the turbo will make - very dangerous !!!

ive had it dyno'd and it hit 320hp at 27psi : P but was over fueling and cut out.
reyland fitted a little pipe to reduce something then it hit 301.9 at 20psi with no over fuel.
ive now fitted a gizzmo boost controller and it struggles to get over 10psi if it does it over fuels and cuts out : (
not sure if its mapped but all the hoses are right and reyland said fuelings spot on !
