the uppipe urgent!!!

hi people can any1 tell me if they know about the uppipe before the turbo. i think mine is blowing and i lookin at 1 on ebay and ends shortly. if bought they say to ask for either an 2" or 2.5". i have a 1999 uk turbo an was wondering if any1 knew the right size for this model. cheers peeps

Lol he wouldnt pmsl, Had nothing to do with em its basically the short pipe from the collector(if ya like where all ya pipes meet from both heads)to your turbo.

i`d guess (and it is a guess without checking)sti`s and uk`s (or wrx`s) are a different diameter,I`d "expect" sti`s to run a larger diameter one.

its actually this pipe he`s on about and doesnt state size unfortunately.

If this helps several ive looked at`s stated fits


All 1992-2000 Import & UK Subaru Impreza STi, WRX, UK Turbo, Type-R, P1, Wagon.(still no size though)

ALL classics run the same up-pipe set-up regardless of model, new-age ones are again very similiar apart from 2.0WRX cars that have a "pre-cat" fitted to them and strangle the spool slightly....................

we do pukka s/steel custom designed up-pipes at £115inc.

be very wary of some after-market ones as they tend to be way over size and do nothing apart from stop spool up and kill torque...........need to be well under 2" as a rule, unless you have a 600bhp drag monster and definately nothing like 2.5"!!!

no need to mess with original uppipe, if its gone then take aftermarket one.
40mm pipe size and the spool will be better. i have done that and very happy.
there is weight different to.

Personally wouldnt argue with alyn he owns AS Performance - Rally Motorsport Specialists I tend to find i cant argue with that sort of experience.
