Turbo for Non-Turbo
Hi, im new here! I haven't bought the car yet ('99 Impreza EJ20) But im looking for some info if anyone can help. Basically i can't afford the insurance on a turbo because of my age and for the moment i'd be happy with a non-turbo but in the mean time i would personalise the car to a stage where i wouldn't want to sell it and do it all again to a turbo one.
So basically im just wondering if in the future could i use the pipework from a EJ20T of the same year and use that with an uprated garrett turbo and front mount intercooler and just remap? Are the EJ20 and EJ20T the same except for the T for Turbo? (internals wise) Hope thats clear enough ![]() |

The EJ20 "Turbo" engine has a DOHC. The non-turbo engine has a SOHC.
