MY99 Turbo ignition problem

Hi,

I have a problem with my classic Impreza GT.
I think it's related to ignition because the fuel pressure is OK when the problem comes up.

Now about the problem:
The car just suddenly stalls randomly.
Usually this happens when the car has been stand around overnight and it has been started and driven about 1 minute (when it's still half warm).
Mostly the car fires up again when I turn the key again but sometimes it just splutters once and dies again.
Then I have to wait about a minute and all is fine again.
Today it did the same thing after I had driven the car about 20km.
Earlier the problem haunted me about once a week or once a month but it just gets worse.
Now the problem exists almost every day.

I'm suspecting crankshaft sensor or coil pack.

Does anybody have some idea what it could be?

ECU shows no fault codes!

Regards
Mihkel

It's produced late 1998 so it's a 1999 model with 160kw engine (2.0 Turbo).

common fault on that age car is the MAF sensor.................would try this first, idle problems are a regualr sign of this fault and it doesn't always trigger a CEL!!

Previous owner said that he had changed the MAF for a brand new one about a year ago.
I don't have any idle problems and also datalog doesn't show any MAF fault, the signal is correct when the fault appears.

Changed the MAF and the Crankshaft sensor.
I think it got a little better but the fault still exists.

ECU showd fault code 23, so I bought a new MAF.
Now it is showing fault code 31 and I think the wiring is bad at some point.

When the fault 23 came, MAF voltage was about 0.3V and the car just died.
After starting it ran about 2sec and died again (MAF voltage was 0.3V all the time).

Does anybody have wiring diagram for MY99 (2.0 TURBO) EURO version?
USA versions are 2.5L and I think the ECU wiring is diffrent.

I think I solved the problem.
Somebody (one of the previous owners) had left one of the 3 ECU connectors half way plugged in.
