Vta Bov?
I'm new to turbo-chargers. I just bought my rex a couple of days ago and I want to upgrade a few things. I was thinking along the lines of an aftermarket BOV or an intake. A buddy of mine with an Evo told me to get a Vent to atmosphere BOV? Would any of you be kind enough to explain this to me or recommend some bolt-ons? Thanks.

the standard blow off/dump valve on the impreza is a recirculation unit i.e. plumbed back into the turbo, a VTA doesnt get plumbed back & releases excess boost to atmosphere.
There are many opinions on this i.e bore wash etc.........it is all hearsay. I have an APS twin vent dump valve which recirc below 0.6 bar then vta above that. Be careful when choosing the dump valve as some are better than others, I have heard of Bailey units failing. I am sure others will give you a better idea shortly.

um, there is engineering to it as such, some cars don't seem to like having dumpvalves with out altering ecu settings. (bog standard evo's for exmple throw a fit if you put a dumpvalve on with out changing the ecu), not knowing anything about american scoobs i don't honestly know.
best bet find a specialist
