Exclamation 2006 WRX TR - Overheating, Heating/Cooling issues

My 06 WRX TR has recently started overheating.

It starts when I get off the highway and stop at a light, it will go up to just under the red. Then when I take off it balances back out.

Today though, it didn't balance back out...AND my heater was on and the hot air turned cold.

Anyone familiar with this type of issue?

The thermostat is less than a year old and coolant levels show fine.

Thanks for any info...

Thank you. I will post again once it's fixed... hopefully without my wallet hurting too bad.

Would an airlock make the heater blow cold air?

No heat can be caused by an air lock in the system.

It will start out hot...but just won't stay hot.

This was just a leaking radiator hose, easy fix

Cost $60, done.
