mm, no gaurenty it was the right one to start with, best bet ring a specialist and ask for a maf for a 1998 impreza turbo, should be the right one then.

Re: help needed with maf differences with pics

i brought the maf from the older maf not the new age one it is much better. it was running a manual boost controller and i didnt like the thought of it but now with standard boost controller i get a spike it goes all the way to 1.5bar then back to 0.7bar then up and down and doesnt settle ive cleaned all pipes and the solinoid itself it has the restrictor pill in the pipe off the boost source too any suggestions would be great

Re: help needed with maf differences with pics

it isnt mapped. it has a 2nd decat and sports back box. other than that its standard. its had new plugs gapped at 0.8, new leads, new maf, new lambda. ive checked for air leaks by spraying pipes with carb cleaner and all seems good. the boost of the manual boost controller i set to 0.9 bar and holds boost fine. soon as i plumb the standard boost controller in it goes crazy

is the OE 1 all plugged in etc after the boost controller was removed?
have you checked the pipes are correct, I know you said there is a pill but is it in the right pipe , might be worth checking before you spend any more cash.
