Question repair or replace

I've got a MY99 Turbo 2000 completely standard. Its not boosting properly it used to throw me back in the seat now its like a little kick then nothing.

I've had the car checked over, I was told the turbo is fine, boost solenoid is working perfectly as its clean and dry and not stuck.

I was told its either actuator or dump valve. I have to take the car back for further tests once they find some parts to try out to see if the boost pressure returns.

Can the actuator and dump valve be repaired or do they have to be replaced?

I don't have any gauges, put it this way the boost is hardly noticeable.

yes I am sure there is no fractured pipes, the only pipe with damage is the one for the air con but its only the protective sheath not the actual pipe.

Not sure what you are referring to, if you mean the boost gauge they are about 40 to 50 quid for decent one that works properly, which I cant afford to waste, when that money can be spent on the part that needs replacing.

I've already checked the pipes over at weekend and two mechanics have also checked them over.

I can afford to run and maintain the car, just that I've spent hundreds on repairs recently due to an MOT centre damaging the sills and then the other week it got vandalised.

Anyway my original post is asking if the dump valve or actuator could be repaired.

Re: repair or replace

my point was without information like is it even boosting how can we help you further,
you only needed a cheap Boost gauge for testing, it doesnt need to be installed in a pod or anything,
Just blank off the DV if you want to rule that out anyway.

Im going to try and fit the boost gauge tomorrow.
Which is the best place to fit it, the spare nipple or the dump valve?
