Smile Turbo a non turbo???

Hi guys and girls Iv currently got a 97 impreza Non-turbo and as fun as it is I'm after more power now without the insurance sting of buying a turbo. Does ne1 know if its possible to turbo a non turbo car or drop a turbo engine in or even what mods can be done to the standard engine to get noticeable power increase without spending thousands. Any help much appreciated.

Re: Turbo a non turbo???

Enjoy what you have, get some no claims built up and save up for a turbo model. A conversion would cost a fortune and you have to declare mods for your insurance anyway

Re: Turbo a non turbo???

Failing a conversion then what can I do to the original non turbo engine to improve all round power output? Thanks for advice.

Re: Turbo a non turbo???

The suspension and brakes are worth upgrading to improve handling. 4 pots and some STi suspension would be a big improvement. Engine wise there's not many options, a good exhaust would sound nice, maybe a manifold and decat pipe and air filter. You'll only be looking at around 140bhp max without spending big

Re: Turbo a non turbo???

Better flow exhaust and air filter will make a non turbo more responsive.
