uk turbo maf confusion??

hi new to the forum! ......I've a my2000 UK turbo. basically the car has been down on power. i jumped the gun and changed the turbo then AFTER I had the bugger plugged in and the diagnostics said the maf was faulty. I put a second hand maf in which I'm assured by a subaru breaker is 100%. now the car has a terrible idle, just goes up and down between stalling and maybe 900rpm. any ideas? cheers guys.

Re: uk turbo maf confusion??

just to update. had the car plugged in and the code has cleared from the maf problem, that suggests the new maf is fine? now I'm wondering why it's caused the terrible idle?

Re: uk turbo maf confusion??

could be any number of things, have you had an ecu reset after the maf change?

MAF's i'd always get a new one, thre not mega expensive (100 ish iirc) for a classic and removes the chance of a duffer

Re: uk turbo maf confusion??

I reset the ecu yes. Im pretty sure the maf is fine now. there's no more lag now but still seems a little low on power. the idle is really bad tho. I've replaced most of the vacuum hoses there and now I'm starting to think there coold be a probelm with the boost solenoid? when I pull a vacuum thats connected to the boost solenoid, well one of the 3 we units in that department the idle picks up to what it should be? any way to test these 3pieces? (real names not yet known lol)
