EML

Hi, I test drove an STI today and the EML came on. The owner said it happened about 6 months ago and when he went back to the car in the morning it had gone out. He phoned me about an hour after i parked the car and he said it had gone out and is just a faulty sensor.
Any idea what it could be?

Re: EML

No idea what it could be then. Shame it was a lovely car
How many sensors are there that would bring an EML on?

Re: EML

Depends on what car it is, its all well and good telling someone to walk away but if its a newage you get the odd error code from time to time and the car is fine, without more info on the error code and car then its hard to help.

Re: EML

Sorry for the lack of info. It's an 03 STI type uk. Light went out and after another test drive light never came on.
I bought it anyway, drove it home and I'm chuffed to bits.

Re: EML

EML code has a library of fault codes, 100 odd in total, some are nothing to worry about and reset sorts it, some could point to engine being fubar.

Re: EML

Thanks. I've driven over 100 miles since purchasing, some with a lead foot and some just pottering and no EML. Hopefully just a glitch but will get Coe read when possible.
