Question 2004 WRX Turbo won't start

Hello fellow forum members,

My friend has a 2004 WRX Turbo 4 door, and has in the last month, replaced the fuel pump 4 times, replaced fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, crank sensor, a relay and maybe a few more things . This last time when the fuel pump was replaced, the mechanic brought the car back to our house, and we have not been able to start it since. It turns over but seems like it is not getting any fuel, can't smell any, and I can hear the fuel pump priming so I know it works. I saw something about the temp sensor may stop it from starting if it is bad, and tried to mess with it, but it was too cold out, (I live in Nebraska) and I couldn't get to it easily. What other things have been brought to light? I really want to help my friend so we can have more than one vehicle, as my truck, a 2002 Chev Silverado is doing the same thing, but I haven't replaced my fuel pump yet. Thanks for reading this!

Re: 2004 WRX Turbo won't start

have the spark plugs been changed?
is the fuel freezing in the lines?
the idle control valve can cause starting issues, that is located on the inlet by the intercooler,a friend had the same problem with his,was sticking even after i removed and cleaned it,solved it by tapping it with a hammer ..could be the same problem your having ..
Mapped by Enginetuner(Plymouth)..
