help and advice needed on 99 turbo ecu

i own a year 2000 UK turbo, x reg. My brother has a 99 UK RB5 ECU in his garage which we think came from the wr sport pack. worth putting on? any risks? he insists its safe to try!

simple fella......no it won't work,just map the ecu that is on yours already!!

ah...but i understood that pre-blob eye, you could not get the Uk turbo ecus re mapped, and they had to be chipped? im sure this was the case when i did a wee bit of research before i bought my scooby? in any case, surely the rb5 is a modded uk turbo ecu in any case?


...mine is last of the line uk turbo see......

MY99 can be as can MY00. Piggyback was required MY96-97 and the MY98 cannot be at all if I remember correctly.

There are no cheap ways to do it other than a re-map by somebody who knows what there doing. Swapping ecu's from another car is a risk in my opinion.

99 ecu will be ecutechable.

as far as 97-98 i hear esl have finaly sorted out the fix for this, not sure if thats 100% accurate or not though
