Fuelling problems...

Morning all! A little advice is required please...

Thursday evening i fitted a new 255lph fuel pump to my 99 turbo wagon, took her for a steady ride and 2 mile down the road she cut out!!! Turned her off on on and she fired again and off i went. I have not really given her any until last night and as i did she cut out again...Now nothing. inbetween these two times i have had her to work and shes been fine!!! Oh and must state that the previousn pump had seemed to give way...

Any advice much appreciated..

Thanks.

Re: Fuelling problems...

look at the plug under the rear seat, they are a common issues so maybe the change has disturbed the wiring in some way, can you actually hear the pump prime when you go to start the car?

wiring checked, fuel pump removed and replaced still no joy. Not priming up again possibly another fault somewhere else along line ????

Re: Fuelling problems...

check with a volt meter at plug, then fuse, relay, if your happy the immobiliser is not causing it.

Re: Fuelling problems...

Quick update on this...

Checked plugs with volt meter and plenty of power going to the pump.
Hopefully im figuring the old pump gave way due to age and usage, and the new one was faulty, going to have the ecu read for faults tomorow just to rule out any other faults.

Any other possible fault suggestions are welcomed as both pumps only really gave way under heavy acceleration!!!

And a fuse relay guide would also be much appreciated. Thanks.
