induction kit

hi,thinking of fitting an induction kit to my 1995 1.6 gl,is it a worthwhile mod as some suppliers say i will get upto 10 bhp more plus how easy are they to fit, also while looking at the original airfilter box i noticed that the pipe next to it has some wires fixed to it,are these important ,dont want to mess up my car so any hints appreciated

Re: induction kit

best thing put a element in the box its a thin mesh filter which is replaced in the filter box the air will flow better and be more cooler as there is alot of heat in the engine bay. i dont think it will make much difference on the bhp if the induction kit is sucking hot air hope that helps.

Re: induction kit

As above mate, go for uprated panel filter, although the roar from an induction kit is beautiful !!

Avoid sucking warm air with cold air feeds or relocating the induction kit.

You won't see any noticeable increases in power really, but compliment it with an exhaust system and it will help... a little.

Re: induction kit

cheers pherhaps ill go for the panel filter then ,though to be honest i think it was just the induction noise i was after as fitting the kit to a 1.6 aint really gonna make it any faster,on another note ill have to leave that for now as some toe rag has just keyed it all down the drivers side ,really pissed off ,there were loads of new bimmers and mercs around(trafford center) but they had to trash mine,,bastards

Re: induction kit

Go the induction kit for the feel good factor. As you said it'd not gonna make a huge difference so enjoy the noise
