Hi all, can you help.
I've just reconnected the fuel lines from the fuel tank to the engine, so the fuel lines are empty, and when I turn the ignition on instead of before when I switched on, the pump would make a noise, I'm guessing, pressurise the system, it just keeps doing this over and over, the engine does start but only for a few seconds then dies, the water isn't conected yet or the ABS but this wouldn't have anything to do with it, would it? should I let it keep doing it till it sorts itsellf out or do I need to bleed the system of air?

I assume you mean the fuel lines from the fuel filter under the bonnet not the actual direct lines from the tank ?
you should still hear the pump prime the system, if the lines are empty it will run for longer.

I refitted the whole system, so the lines are empty. what you're saying is the pump will prime for longer. Thanks for your reply, very much appreciated.
