Subaru cold start sensor

Hello all, first time posting, great site here!


Could anyone tell me exactly where on the engine is the cold start sensor (or valve) for a 1996 Subaru Impreza?

Hi.

The cold start senser on a subaru = Coolant temp sensor located on the engine under the inlet manifold

Subaru Legacy Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement Heres photos to the link above the legacy has the same set up I had to change my coolant temp sensor recently thought it was a cam or crank sensor but it was the coolant temp sens mine was hard to start up when cold the new sensor sorted the problem it never through up an engine light either but my sensor behind the alternator and this link will help ya if yours is here but would reckon it the first link Coolant Temp Sensor Install

here's a very handy step by step guide to changeing your temp sensor,this guide is for a 2.2 legacy but the temp sensor is in the same place on all the flat 4 engines as far as i know.you just need to take off a few pipes that are in the way.
