Annoyed!

SPRAYING INTAKE MANIFOLD sure ye might remember this post nearly 2 years ago well 2 years on fairly disgusted as the paint flaking never used a primer as it said you can spray on bare metal beginning to think I should have now thinking of whipping the manifold off again and painting it with ''Hammerite Smooth Red'' used it for my brake calipers only thing its more of a gloss than a flat colour but any ideas and you think the Hammerite will last longer and get a few years out of it?

Re: Annoyed!

If primed and prepared properly it will last longer, people tend to rush the prep, or dont degrease before they paint etc, the little bits all add up, even down to warming the manifold when you paint it.

What would be a good primer to last with the heat?

Il give that paint one last go sure but Ill prime it this time as its the closest to the oem look as the hammerite to much of a shine off it and keep the manifold off the car for a couple of days and let it dry fully hopefully that would do it what kind of primer you think halfords primer? or to cheap?

Re: Annoyed!

You could try a VHT primer exhaust coating paint.
