Exclamation engine flush treatment

I was looking through the service receipts and noticed every year that the previous owner had the car it had engine flush treatment done.

Can anyone explain what this does and is it a good idea to do this on a classic turbo.

cheers.

PS this was the car I wrote off the other week. It for future reference.

Re: engine flush treatment

the idea is to flush out the old engine oil to then replace it with new fresh oil. As said though its a very bad idea, if you need to put in oil, then drain and replace it again. A few folks have mentioned engines going bang after flushing.

Re: engine flush treatment

thanks.

does engine flush also help reduce emmissions, i was trying to figure out why in my last MOT the CO2 level had almost doubled and only just passed, compared to the previous MOT yet car was running fine with no codes stored in the ECU.

I wouldnt think so to be honest may be just a coincidence and the cat maybe on its way out maybe or failing o2 sensor, when my o2 went it never sent up a code just was starting to idle up in down when car fully warmed up somtimes

Re: engine flush treatment

my revs were constantly 800rpm when warmed up. Never mind, i'll stay away from the engine flush.
