Oil leak help, new to the Subaru work

Hello all, just picked up an 02 imprezza wrx with 80k on it. Been on a long run today and smelt oil burning when I came back. There seems to be a small amount depositing just below the metal expansion tank.

I don't think it is the rocker covers, any theories before I take it apart would be appreciated!

Subarus are famous for blowing crank and cam seals. They re not that hard to do if thats what it is. Need to take off the timing belt and gears to get to them
