Newbie to scoobys' and need some pointers please!!

hi

i'm a newbie to jap cars having been into old vauxhalls so i apolgise if anything i ask may be naive! i swapped my c20xe corsa gsi for the subaru i now have - its a 2000 4wd shell with a v5/6 sti engine in it. the engine itself has done 55k (has been converted to mph), i've had the car 2 weeks and absolutely love it, its my first turbo car and my first 4wd!

my question is since replacing the IACV on wednesday it doesnt seem to boost as high as it did before? it is a possibilty that the boost gauge is wrong but as i'm new to these cars and frightened to death of melting a piston i wanted to ask anyway! plus in the higher rev range around 5500rpm onwards it feels like its hesitating - i dont know if this is a misfire or if the electronic boost controller is kicking in??

also when i change gear - namely 3rd - in high revs, there is a hell of jerk, i've been told that this could be a fault with the ecu??

help please!
many thanks in advance!

edit - i forgot to mention that the turbo is an ihi turbo

who fitted the IACV,maindealer, scoob specialist or general garage,in theory the ECU should have been reset to erase any fault codes stored with the ECU,this could also be accounting for the joerk your getting, sounds very much like boost cut/overboost again ECU reset should resolve the problem

my other fitted the IACV, hes a mechanic and big into his vauxhalls (hence my past lol), he did reset the ECU after he'd changed the IACV (plugging the two plugs together and driving it down the road) but it did this jerking before the IACV was changed as well, i expected it to stop when he changed it but it hasnt
